Baseball Recap: Blacksburg Has No Trouble Against Brashier Middle College Charter

The Blacksburg Wildcats made easy work of the Brashier Middle College Charter Bengal on Tuesday and carried off an 18-2 victory. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Wildcats.

The team relied heavily on Matty Cody, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with six RBI, two triples, and two stolen bases. He also put up a double, which was his first of the season. Another player making a difference was Josh Sims, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with one home run, three runs, and four RBI.

Cody wasn't the only one making solid contact: Blacksburg kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 11 hits. That's the most hits they've posted since back in March of 2024.

Blacksburg's record now sits at 4-14. As for Brashier Middle College Charter, they moved to 9-9 with that defeat, which also ended their three-game winning streak.

Looking ahead, Blacksburg will square off against Greenville H at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. As for Brashier Middle College Charter, they will host Liberty on Tuesday.
