Baseball Game Preview: Columbus Discoverers vs. Westview Wolverines

The Columbus Discoverers will venture away from home to face off against the Westview Wolverines at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday.

On Friday, Columbus came up short against Pius X and fell 7-3. The Discoverers haven't had much luck with the Thunderbolts recently, as the team has come up short the last four times they've met.

Grant Zoucha was cooking despite his team's loss, going 2-for-3 with one home run and three RBI.

Meanwhile, there's no place like home for Westview, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Tuesday. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 4-2 win over Concordia/Brownell/Omaha Christian Academy on Thursday. The victory was a breath of fresh air for the Wolverines as it put an end to their three-game losing streak.

Westview's win was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 16-12. Those home victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.7 runs on average over those games. As for Columbus, their loss dropped their record down to 9-14.
