The Ludlow Panthers will face off against the Owen County Rebels at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Ludlow is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 9 runs per game this season.

On Thursday, Ludlow beat Heritage Academy 5-2.

The team relied heavily on Jackson Mays, who scored two runs and stole a base while getting on base in three of his four plate appearances.

For some reason, the away team has come away with the win the last five times Owen County and Eminence have met, but the home crowd finally got their W on Thursday. Owen County was the clear victor by an 8-1 margin over Eminence. The Rebels' hitters stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most runs they've scored all season.

Connor Dezarn was a major factor while hitting and pitching. On the mound, he struck out six batters over 6.1 innings while giving up just one earned run off five hits (and only one walk). That's the fewest earned runs he has allowed since back in April of 2024. He was also big at the plate, scoring a run while going 2-for-4.

In other batting news, Nathan Kemper was excellent, scoring two runs and stealing four bases while getting on base in two of his four plate appearances. Those four stolen bases gave him a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Bryson Tirey, who went 2-for-4 with two stolen bases and two RBI.

The win got Owen County back to even at 2-2. As for Ludlow, their victory bumped their record up to 4-1.

Owen County's pitching crew has a crucial task ahead of them: Ludlow has hit smart this season, having averaged an OBP of .451. It's a different story for Owen County, though, as they've only averaged .360. Will they be able to contain Ludlow's hitters?
