Basketball Game Preview: Dutch Fork Silver Foxes vs. Chapin Eagles

The Dutch Fork Silver Foxes will take on the Chapin Eagles at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Dutch Fork is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 60.2 points per game this season.

Dutch Fork is probably headed into the game with a chip on their shoulder considering River Bluff just ended the team's four-game winning streak on Tuesday. They were just a bucket shy of victory and fell 49-48 to the Gators.

Even though the team lost, they still had their share of impressive performances. One of the best came from Caleb Garner, who posted 15 points and seven boards. The dominant performance gave him a new career-high in points. The team also got some help courtesy of Bryson Taylor, who put up 17 points.

Even though they lost, Dutch Fork smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with ten offensive boards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least nine offensive rebounds in seven consecutive matches.

Meanwhile, Chapin was not able to break out of their rough patch on Wednesday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They took a blow against Irmo, falling 71-41.

Dutch Fork's defeat was their first in the region, dropping their region record down to 4-1 and their overall record down to 14-6. As for Chapin, their loss dropped their record down to 8-13.

Everything went Dutch Fork's way against Chapin in their previous meeting on January 9th, as Dutch Fork made off with a 68-47 win. In that contest, Dutch Fork amassed a halftime lead of 46-25, an impressive feat they'll look to repeat on Friday.
