Basketball Recap: Jefferson Davis Academy Comes Up Short

Jefferson Davis Academy was not able to break out of their rough patch on Saturday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They were two points away from ending the streak, but they lost a 43-41 heartbreaker at the hands of the Florence Christian Eagles.

When it comes to explaining why Jefferson Davis Academy lost, don't look at Nasir Void. Despite the final result, he dropped a double-double on 11 points and 15 rebounds. Void has been hot for a while, having posted nine or more boards the last 13 times he's played. Colson Loadholt was another key player, putting up 14 points along with seven boards and three blocks.

Taylor Greene continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines for Florence Christian, posting 19 points and eight rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Brayden Berry, who posted 11 points and five rebounds.

Jefferson Davis Academy's defeat dropped their record down to 5-4. As for Florence Christian, their win bumped their record up to 5-6.

Jefferson Davis Academy is facing Holly Hill Academy at the right time seeing as Holly Hill Academy is stuck on a three-game losing streak. As for Florence Christian, they will take on Faith Christian in a tournament on Monday. Florence Christian is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 50.1 points per game this season.
