Softball Recap: Four Straight Road Wins for Castle

Castle never let their opponents score on Monday. Everything went their way against the Evansville Central Bears as they made off with an 11-0 victory. The Knights have seen this before: they got the W the last time they saw the Bears, too.

Aubrey Baker was incredible, going 1-for-2 with one home run, four RBI, and two runs. Mati Hughes was another key player, going a perfect 3-for-3 with two runs and one RBI.

Castle was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .414. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Evansville Central only posted a batting average of .118.

Castle's win was their fourth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 13-11. Those road victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.8 runs on average over those games. As for Evansville Central, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost six of their last seven contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 6-11 record this season.

Castle will host Gibson Southern at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The Titans will roll in looking for their eighth straight win, something the Knights surely won't give up without a fight. As for Evansville Central, they will venture away from home to take on Boonville at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The last five games the Pioneers have played have been within two runs, so don't be surprised if it's a close one.
