Recap: American Leadership Academy Patriots vs. Eastmark Firebirds
If the American Leadership Academy Patriots were riding high off their 69-44 takedown of the Poston Butte Broncos last Thursday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. American Leadership Academy fell 74-63 to Eastmark on Friday. The defeat unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for American Leadership Academy in their matchups with Eastmark: they've now lost four in a row.
Eastmark was led to victory by Timothy Gorham and Rhys Walcott. Gorham dropped a double-double on 26 points and ten rebounds, while Walcott went 6 for 8 from beyond the arc en route to 29 points and 6 assists. That makes it five consecutive games in which Gorham has scored at least a third of Eastmark's points. Bryce Walcott was another key contributor, scoring 12 points along with six rebounds.
American Leadership Academy has traveled a rocky road recently, as they've lost three of their last four matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 12-10 record this season. As for Eastmark, their win bumped their record up to 15-9.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. American Leadership Academy will challenge Combs at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. Combs will be looking to keep their six-game home win streak alive. As for Eastmark, Eastmark and Poston Butte will face off at 7:00 p.m. on January 29th without much rest after finishing up games yesterday.
