Football Recap: Providence Christian Academy Comes Up Short

Providence Christian Academy managed to slip by Oglethorpe County the last time these teams faced off, but didn't have those same answers this time around. The Storm were outmatched by the Patriots and fell 34-7. The contest marked the Storm's lowest-scoring game so far this season.

Oglethorpe County got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Caden Hartrum out in front who rushed for 65 yards and two scores. Hartrum has become a key player for the Patriots: the team is undefeated when he posts at least two rushing touchdowns, but 2-4 otherwise. Another rusher making a difference was O'Maury Huggs, who rushed for 89 yards and one TD on only nine carries.

Providence Christian Academy has been struggling recently as they've lost four of their last five matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 2-7 record this season. As for Oglethorpe County, the victory was the third in a row for them, bringing their record up to 5-4.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming contests. Providence Christian Academy will head out to square off against Commerce at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. As for Oglethorpe County, they will venture away from home to face off against Banks County at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. The Patriots will be up against the Leopards' rather soft defense (which has allowed 37.22 points per game), so fans could be in store for a big offensive performance.
