Basketball Recap: North Phoenix Preparatory Academy Comes Up Short

North Phoenix Preparatory Academy easily dispatched Desert Heights Prep last Tuesday, but unfortunately both the margin and the ultimate result were a different story in this one. The North Phoenix Preparatory Academy Gladiators fell just short of the Trivium Prep Crimson Knights by a score of 39-37 on Thursday.

Trivium Prep's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Madison Hager led the charge by going 9 for 18 en route to 20 points in addition to seven steals and six boards. That makes it five consecutive games in which Hager has scored at least a third of Trivium Prep's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Grace Brown, who almost dropped a double-double on 12 points and nine rebounds.

North Phoenix Preparatory Academy's loss dropped their record down to 9-6. As for Trivium Prep, their win bumped their record up to 6-8.

North Phoenix Preparatory Academy wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next matchup, a 31-24 victory against Patagonia on the 28th. As for Trivium Prep, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 38-34 defeat against North Valley Christian Academy on the 28th.
