Baseball Recap: Delta Beats Roaring Fork for Their Fifth Straight Win

Delta had already won four in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 11.3 runs) and they went ahead and made it five on Friday. Everything went their way against the Roaring Fork Rams as they made off with an 18-6 victory. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 14-11 on Friday.

Ty Reed spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered three earned (and one unearned) runs on ten hits and racked up seven Ks. He has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in five consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, Delta let Rhett Miramontes and Jhett Ryan run wild. Miramontes scored three runs while going 4-for-4, while Ryan scored two runs and stole a base while going 4-for-4. The dominant performance also gave Miramontes a new career-high in RBI (three). Another player making a difference was Deacon Shean, who scored two runs and stole a base while going 3-for-4.

Delta was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .733. They are a perfect 6-0 when they post a batting average of .375 or better.

Delta pushed their record up to 9-5 with the win, which was their fourth straight at home. The home victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 13.0 runs over those games. As for Roaring Fork, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 3-9.
