Softball Game Preview: Fairhaven Blue Devils vs. West Bridgewater Wildcats

Fairhaven is a perfect 3-0 against West Bridgewater since April of 2024 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Tuesday. The Blue Devils will be playing at home against the Wildcats at 3:45 p.m. Fairhaven has given up an average of 11.2 runs per game this season, but Tuesday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.

Fairhaven came up short against Case on Monday, falling 13-1. The Blue Devils haven't had much luck with the Cardinals recently, as the team has come up short the last six times they've met.

Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask West Bridgewater). They put the hurt on Bourne with a sharp 18-1 victory on Monday. The win was a breath of fresh air for the Wildcats as it put an end to their seven-game losing streak.

Emma Croce was a standout: she went a perfect 3-for-3 with three stolen bases, five RBI, and three doubles. Those three doubles gave her a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Alanna Fidalgo, who went a perfect 4-for-4 with four stolen bases, three runs, and two doubles.

They weren't the only ones making solid contact: West Bridgewater kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 16 hits. They are a perfect 4-0 when they post 11 or more hits.

West Bridgewater's victory bumped their record up to 5-9. As for Fairhaven, they now have a losing record of 2-3.

Fairhaven took their win against West Bridgewater when the teams last played last Monday by a conclusive 14-1 score. Will the Blue Devils repeat their success, or do the Wildcats have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
