Football Recap: Pepperell Starts Season with Defeat at Home + How To Watch

Pepperell unfortunately couldn't capitalize on their home-field advantage in their season opener. They took a 28-20 hit to the loss column at the hands of Pickens on Friday. The result was an unpleasant reminder to Pepperell of the 31-28 loss they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in August of 2024.

Christopher Alphin threw for 182 yards and one TD. Madoc Garcia was his top target, picking up 101 receiving yards.

Pickens had a senior duo take command as Hayden Jones rushed for 52 yards and one score on only five carries and Ezra Faber gained 215 total yards.

Pepperell has already played their next contest, a 31-17 win against Adairsville on the 22nd. As for Pickens, they also didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next match, a 34-14 victory against Sonoraville on the 22nd.
