Basketball Recap: Fort Lee Bridgemen vs. Ridgefield Park Scarlets
The Fort Lee Bridgemen's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Tuesday after their third straight defeat. They took a 56-43 hit to the loss column at the hands of Ridgefield Park. Fort Lee was given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Scarlets apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in January.
Fort Lee lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Guy Vickers, who scored 13 points along with eight rebounds and two steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Devin Jang, who scored 15 points.
Fort Lee struggled to work together and finished the game with only three assists. That's the fewest assists they've managed all season.
Fort Lee has been struggling recently as they've lost five of their last six contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 5-13 record this season. As for Ridgefield Park, the victory makes it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 9-11.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Fort Lee will take on the Raiders at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday. Cliffside Park is strutting with some offensive muscle, as they've averaged 52.9 points per game this season. Ridgefield Park's road trip will continue as they head out to face the Huskies at 7:00 p.m. on February 1st. Dumont presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than the Scarlets in New Jersey (the Huskies are ranked 86th, while the Scarlets are ranked 228th).
