Lincoln County needed a changed in momentum after dropping four straight games and they got it from Arien Cooper. The Lincoln County Panthers had just enough and edged out the Ripley Vikings 53-50 for which the team can thank Cooper, who dropped a double-double with 22 points and 11 rebounds. She has become a key player for Lincoln County: the team is undefeated when she posts at least 15 points, but 1-18 otherwise.

Another player making a difference was Brooklyn Stickler, who went 5-for-6 to rack up 11 points. What's more, she also posted an 83% field goal percentage, which is the highest she's achieved since back in December of 2023.

Lincoln County's win was their first in the region, bumping their region record up to 1-4 and their overall record up to 4-18. As for Ripley, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 7-13.

Looking ahead, a feisty cat fight will be fought as the Panthers challenge the Tigers at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Lincoln County is facing Chapmanville Regional at the right time seeing as Chapmanville Regional is stuck on a six-game losing streak. As for Ripley, they will take on Princeton at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Princeton is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 52.9 points per game this season.
