Spanish Springs took care of business in their home opener (and then some) on Tuesday. They breezed past the Galena Grizzlies to the tune of 71-41. The Cougars pushed the score to 59-28 by the end of the third, a deficit the Grizzlies cut but never quite recovered from.
Leading Spanish Springs to victory were Brady Hummel and Jaden Penney. Hummel went 7-for-13 to rack up 18 points and five rebounds, while Penney shot 63% from the field en route to 14 points and three steals. Those 18 points gave Hummel a new career-high. Tyson McNeil was another key player, putting up ten points and five assists.
Galena's defeat dropped their record down to 1-1.
