Basketball Recap: Olathe West Find Success

It was a Battle of the Birds when Olathe West challenged Olathe North on Friday. The Olathe West Owls secured a 60-54 W over the Olathe North Eagles. That's more bragging rights for the Owls, who also won the pair's last head-to-head.

When it comes to explaining why Olathe North lost, don't look at Asia Lee. Despite the final result, she went 7 of 11 from beyond the arc en route to 33 points. The game was Lee's sixth in a row with at least ten points. Another player making a difference was Lailah Boyd, who went 5 of 8 en route to 10 points and five rebounds.

The victory got Olathe West back to even at 3-3. As for Olathe North, their defeat dropped their record down to 2-4.

Olathe West will venture away from home to challenge Shawnee Mission West at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Olathe North, they will host Lawrence Free State at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Olathe North is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 54.8 points per game this season.
