May River entered their tilt with Effingham County on Tuesday with six consecutive wins, and they'll enter their next game with seven. They blew past the Rebels 3-0. That three set margin sets a new team best for the Sharks this season.

While May River might've won, it sure wasn't easy: Effingham County scored at least 21 points in every set they played. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-22, 25-21, 28-26.

Effingham County's loss came despite strong showings from Bella Giaquinto and Bella Mauro. Giaquinto had nine digs and two aces, while Mauro had five digs and two aces.

May River's win bumped their record up to 7-2. As for Effingham County, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 4-5.

Coming up, May River is taking a road trip to face off against Bluffton at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Effingham County, they will face off against Lakeside at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. The game will give the Rebels their first taste of in-conference action this season.
