Coronado came tearing into Thursday's matchup with five straight wins , and they left with even more momentum. Everything went their way against the Santana Sultans as they made off with a 3-0 victory. That's more bragging rights for the Islanders, who also won the pair's last head-to-head.

Coronado walked away with the win (and looked especially good in the first set). The match finished with set scores of 25-6, 25-17, 25-21.

Coronado's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Lydia Schutt, who had 14 assists and three digs. Those 14 assists gave Schutt a new career-high.

Coronado was lethal from the service line and finished the game with ten aces. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Santana didn't served any aces.

Coronado's victory bumped their record up to 8-1. As for Santana, their defeat was their first of the season and makes their record 5-1.

Coronado has already played their next game, a 3-1 win against Otay Ranch on the 26th. As for Santana, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 3-0 loss against Maranatha Christian on the 26th.
