Ireland Heer spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered one run (which was unearned) on three hits. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in four consecutive pitching appearances.

On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Avery Gines, who went 1-for-3 with two stolen bases and an RBI. The team also got some help courtesy of Brynlee Taga, who scored a run while going 1-for-4.

Meanwhile, Mead had to endure a four-game losing streak, but that streak is no more. They had just enough and edged Rocky Mountain out 20-19 on Saturday.

Mead let Julianne Williams and Nikki Ward loose on the outfield. Williams went 3-for-4 with five RBI, three runs, and a stolen base, while Ward went 3-for-3 with a home run, four runs, and a double. That's the most hits Ward has posted since back in September of 2023. The team also got some help courtesy of Kinley Bussard, who scored two runs while going 3-for-3.

Perhaps unsurprisingly given the score, Mead didn't let batters stay on the plate for long and finished the game with six strikeouts. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Rocky Mountain only tossed two.

Broomfield's victory was their seventh straight on the road dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 13-0. As for Mead, the win also got them back to even at 6-6.
