Basketball Game Preview: Northside Eagles vs. Lee County Trojans

Northside hasn't had much luck against Lee County recently, but that could start to change on Tuesday. The Northside Eagles will head out on the road to challenge the Lee County Trojans at 7:30 p.m. Both teams are coming into the game red-hot, with Northside sitting on three straight victories and Lee County on five.

Northside will bounce into Tuesday's matchup after beating Veterans, who they had gone 0-9 against in their nine prior meetings. Northside secured a 62-57 W over Veterans on Saturday.

Northside's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Chaston Brown led the charge by going 8 for 9 en route to 17 points in addition to eight boards and six blocks. The dominant performance gave Brown a new career-high in points. Another player making a difference was Jordan Gaines, who went 7 of 12 on his way to 17 points and eight rebounds.

Northside was working as a unit and finished the game with 18 assists. That's the most assists they've managed all season.

Meanwhile, Lee County was able to grind out a solid win over Jonesboro on Saturday, taking the game 63-50.

Northside pushed their record up to 12-10 with the victory, which was their third straight at home. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 62.3 points per game. As for Lee County, they are on a roll lately: they've won eight of their last nine contests, which provided a nice bump to their 17-5 record this season.

Northside was taken down by Lee County 66-36 when the teams last played back in January. Can Northside avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
