Softball Recap: Four Straight Home Victories for Canon-Mcmillan

Canon-McMillan's game last Wednesday was a loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Friday. They won by a run and slipped past the Pine-Richland Rams 7-6. For the Big Macs, this counts as revenge for the 6-3 victory the Rams walked away with the last time they faced one another back in May of 2024.

Brooke Bumer tossed a big game, striking out nine batters over 4.2 innings while giving up just two earned runs off five hits (and only one walk). She has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't given up more than two walks in five consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Kiersten Williams was incredible, going 1-for-3 with one home run, three RBI, and two runs.

Canon-McMillan pushed their record up to 6-5 with the win, which was their fourth straight at home. The home victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 10.3 runs over those games. As for Pine-Richland, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 3-2.

Coming up, Canon-McMillan will look to defend their home field on Monday against Norwin at 4:15 p.m. As for Pine-Richland, they will challenge Seneca Valley at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday. The Raiders will roll in looking for their tenth straight win, something the Rams surely won't give up without a fight.
