Volleyball Recap: Crawford Comes Up Short

After flying high against Hoover on Tuesday, Crawford came back down to earth. The Colts took a 3-1 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Lincoln Hornets on Thursday. The Colts have struggled against the Hornets recently, as the game was their sixth consecutive lost meeting.

Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-18, 25-11, 23-25, 25-17.

Niko Arkward paced Crawford's offense, picking up seven kills. Arkward got some help from Adolfo Ventura and his 24 assists. Randy Thorne controlled things from the service line, finishing with four aces.

Crawford's defeat dropped their record down to 16-6. As for Lincoln, their win bumped their record up to 14-9.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Crawford will head out to challenge San Ysidro at 5:00 p.m. on Monday. The Cougars will roll in looking for their sixth straight victory, something the Colts surely won't give up without a fight. As for Lincoln, they will venture away from home to take on Morse at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
