Basketball Game Preview: Cloverdale Clovers vs. Northview Knights

Cloverdale and Northview are an even 5-5 against one another since January of 2018, but not for long. The Cloverdale Clovers will take on the Northview Knights in a holiday battle at at 1:00 p.m. on Monday. Both are sauntering into the matchup backed by comfortable wins in their prior games.

Having struggled with 21 losses in a row dating back to last season, Cloverdale turned things around against South Vermillion on Saturday. They took their match with ease, bagging a 53-23 win over the Wildcats. The Clovers' offense stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most points they've scored all season.

Meanwhile, Northview came tearing into Friday's game with three straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 22.7 points) and they left with even more momentum. They blew past the Cougars, posting a 59-24 victory.

Northview has been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six contests, which provided a nice bump to their 8-6 record this season. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 53.0 points per game. As for Cloverdale, their win ended a 13-game drought at home dating back to last season and bumped them up to 1-10.

Cloverdale suffered a grim 45-19 defeat to Northview in their previous meeting back in January. Can Cloverdale avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
