Softball Recap: Canastota Comes Up Short

Canastota suffered their closest loss since May 7, 2024 on Friday. They fell just short of the Phoenix Firebirds by a score of 10-8. The Red Raiders were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Firebirds earlier this season, when they won 6-3.

This is the second loss in a row for Canastota and nudges their season record down to 8-6. Even worse, they were so close both times: the defeats came by an average of only 1.5 runs. As for Phoenix, they now have a winning record of 3-2.

Looking ahead, Canastota will look to defend their home field on Monday against Oneida at 4:30 p.m. Phoenix does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
