Basketball Recap: Miami Beach Comes Up Short

Miami Beach was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They took a blow against the Miami Country Day Spartans, falling 77-41. The Hi-Tides lost against the Spartans in their previous head to head back in November of 2022, too, but the margin this time around was even wider than the 72-65 score last time.

Several Hi-Tides players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Nico James, who posted ten points and five rebounds. Those ten points gave James a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Baptiste T, who earned 11 points.

Miami Country Day's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Chaim Galbut, who almost dropped a double-double on 15 points and nine rebounds. Another player making a difference was Fernando Romero, who had 12 points and eight assists.

Miami Beach's loss dropped their record down to 1-3. As for Miami Country Day, the victory keeps them at an undefeated 5-0.

Miami Beach didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next match, a 72-60 win against Mourning on the 10th. As for Miami Country Day, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next game, an 82-80 defeat against Northwestern on the 7th.
