Rio Hondo Prep won the last time they faced La Quinta and things went their way on Monday too. The Kares blew past the Aztecs 10-1. Considering the Kares have won eight matches by more than five runs this season, Monday's blowout was nothing new.

BRYCE JOHNSON made a big impact no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound, pitching five innings while giving up just one earned run off three hits. JOHNSON was also solid in the batter's box, going 1-for-2 with two runs.

In other batting news, Rio Hondo Prep let ALLIE SCOTT and TARA RILEY run wild. SCOTT went 2-for-3 with one home run, two runs, and one stolen base, while RILEY went 3-for-4 with one home run and one stolen base. That's the most hits RILEY has posted since back in February. Another player making a difference was LEAH RODRIGUEZ, who went 1-for-2 with two RBI, one run, and one double.

Rio Hondo Prep always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .514. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as La Quinta only posted an OBP of .345.

Rio Hondo Prep has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won seven of their last eight games. That's provided a nice bump to their 13-4 record this season. The victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 11.3 runs over those games. As for La Quinta, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 6-11.

Rio Hondo Prep wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next contest, a 4-2 win against Polytechnic on the 30th. As for La Quinta, they also didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next match, a 16-4 victory against Estancia on the 30th.
