Recap: Warren County Wildcats vs. Kettle Run Cougars
The Warren County Wildcats''s recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Friday after their fourth straight loss. They took a serious blow against Kettle Run, falling 57-8. While losing is never fun, Warren County can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Virginia football rankings (they are ranked 231st, while Kettle Run is ranked 20th).
Colton Quaker continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines for Kettle Run, rushing for 134 yards and three touchdowns on only 14 carries. Quaker is on a roll when it comes to rushing yards, as he's now rushed for 100 or more in the last eight games he's played. Jacob Mulhern was another key contributor, throwing for 141 yards and two touchdowns while completing 78.6% of his passes.
Warren County's loss dropped their record down to 1-7. As for Kettle Run, the victory for they keeps them at an undefeated 8-0.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Warren County will square off against Meridian at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Kettle Run, they will head out on the road to face off against Fauquier at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The timing isn't great for Fauquier: they have been struggling with three straight losses at home, while Kettle Run has snatched up ten consecutive wins on the road dating back to last season.
