Basketball Game Preview: Roane County Raiders vs. Tyler Knights

The Roane County Raiders will face off against the Tyler Knights at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday. Given that the two teams suffered a loss in their last games, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this game.

Last Tuesday, Roane County came up short against Nicholas County and fell 54-41.

Even though the team lost, they still had their share of impressive performances. One of the best came from Will Odle, who dropped a double-double with ten points and 14 boards. Another player making a difference was Nick Taylor, who posted eight points.

Even though they lost, Roane County smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 11 offensive rebounds. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least 11 offensive boards in six consecutive contests.

Meanwhile, Tyler had to suffer through an 84-54 loss at the hands of Wheeling Central Catholic. The Knights haven't had much luck with the Maroon Knights recently, as the team has come up short the last three times they've met.

Roane County dropped their record down to 5-12 with the loss, which was their sixth straight on the road. As for Tyler, their defeat dropped their record down to 8-11.

Roane County suffered a grim 59-38 defeat to Tyler when the teams last played back in February of 2022. Thankfully for Roane County, Caleb Strode (who dropped a double-double with 22 points and 11 rebounds) won't be suiting up this time. Will that be enough to change the final result?
