Volleyball Recap: Grove City Eagles vs. Sharpsville Blue Devils
After flying high against Greenville last Thursday, Grove City came back down to earth. The Grove City Eagles took a 2-0 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Sharpsville Blue Devils on Saturday. The Eagles were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Blue Devils apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in October of 2023.
While Grove City ultimately came up short, they really made Sharpsville work, particularly in the first set. The final score came out to 26-24, 25-21.
Grove City's defeat dropped their record down to 16-5-1. As for Sharpsville, the win (which was their fourth in a row) raised their record to 7-3.
Grove City wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next contest, a 2-0 victory against Lakeview on the 12th. As for Sharpsville, they will take on Grove City at 7:15 p.m. on Tuesday.
