Baseball Game Preview: Hotchkiss School Bearcats vs. Loomis Chaffee School Pelicans

The Hotchkiss School Bearcats will square off against the Loomis Chaffee School Pelicans at 4:45 p.m. on Thursday. Given that the two teams suffered a loss in their last games, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this contest.

On Wednesday, Hotchkiss School came up short against Avon Old Farms and fell 6-1.

The home team had come away the winner the last six times Loomis Chaffee School and Kingswood Oxford had met, but sadly for the fans who attended this one that wasn't the case. The Pelicans took an 8-4 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Wyverns on Wednesday. The Pelicans' defeat signaled the end of their three-game winning streak.

Hotchkiss School now has a losing record of 1-2. As for Loomis Chaffee School, their loss was their first in the league, dropping their league record down to 3-1 and their overall record down to 4-2.

Hotchkiss School came out on top in a nail-biter against Loomis Chaffee School when the teams last played back in May of 2024, sneaking past 7-6. Will the Bearcats repeat their success, or do the Pelicans have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
