Christoval was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They fell to the McCamey Badgers 19-15. The Cougars lost against the Badgers in their previous head to head back in November of 2017, too, but the margin this time around was much closer than the 61-14 score last time.
Christoval wouldn't let McCamey keep a hold of the ball as they managed to force two fumbles. Christoval can thank Colt Floyd and Isreal Bogs for forcing both of them. Floyd is also crushing it when it comes to total tackles: he's made at least six every time he's taken the field this season.
A big part of the win came down to the chemistry between Aiden Torres and his top target Edgar Quinonez. Torres threw for 142 yards and two touchdowns while Quinonez picked up 89 receiving yards and two touchdowns.
Christoval's loss dropped their record down to 0-3. As for McCamey, they now have a winning record of 2-1.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Christoval is on the road again on Friday to play Sterling City at 7:00 p.m. As for McCamey, they will challenge Reagan County at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Both are at an even 4-4 against one another since August of 2014, but likely not for long.
