Basketball Game Preview: Evansville Christian Eagles vs. Vincennes Rivet Patriots

The Evansville Christian Eagles will wrap up 2024 with a road trip to face off against the Vincennes Rivet Patriots at 10:00 a.m. on Friday. Evansville Christian is coming into the matchup hot, having won their last four games.

Evansville Christian will head into Saturday's game hoping to keep the good times rolling: they had to skate by with only a three-point margin when they last took the court, which might have inspired the 29-point drubbing they dealt North Daviess on Saturday. Evansville Christian breezed by North Daviess to the tune of 49-20. Given the Eagles' advantage in MaxPreps' Indiana basketball rankings (they are ranked 90th, while the Cougars are ranked 260th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Meanwhile, Vincennes Rivet humbled Eastern Greene with a 55-20 victory. The Patriots have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won six contests by 25 points or more this season.

Vincennes Rivet's victory was their fourth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 6-4. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 69.5 points per game. As for Evansville Christian, they have been performing well recently as they've won six of their last eight matches, which provided a nice bump to their 8-3 record this season.

Evansville Christian didn't have too much breathing room in their game against Vincennes Rivet in their previous meeting back in November, but they still walked away with a 56-50 win.
