Baseball Recap: Make It Three in a Row for Hamtramck

Hamtramck waltzed into their match on Wednesday with two straight wins... but they left with three. They came out on top against the Southeastern Jungaleers by a score of 10-6. For the Cosmos, this counts as revenge for the 14-1 victory the Jungaleers walked away with the last time they faced one another back in May of 2024.

Gabriel Mills made a big impact no matter where he played. On the mound, he struck out eight batters over 3.2 innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. He has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't tossed less than eight strikeouts in three consecutive appearances. He was also solid in the batter's box, going 1-for-2 with two runs, two RBI, and one double. He has become a key player for Hamtramck: the team is undefeated when he posts at least two runs, but 5-10 otherwise.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Darnell Benning, who went 1-for-2 with three RBI, two runs, and one double. Those three RBI gave him a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Lajuan Hairston, who went 2-for-4 with one stolen base, one run, and one RBI.

Hamtramck's record now sits at 12-10. As for Southeastern, they dropped their record down to 12-18 with the defeat, which was their third straight on the road.

Hamtramck does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Southeastern, they will square off against Chandler Park Academy at 12:30 p.m. on Friday.
