Basketball Recap: Dusable Skates Past Excel Academy of Englewood with Ease

DuSable was handed a heart-breaking three-point defeat in their last match, but they sure didn't let that happen against Excel Academy of Englewood on Thursday. The DuSable Panthers simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat the Excel Academy of Englewood Bulls 61-34. The Panthers have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won six games by 21 points or more this season.

DuSable's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Patrick Malone led the charge by putting up 17 points. The contest was Malone's fourth in a row with at least ten points. Another player making a difference was Ave'Veyon Watkins, who posted 15 points and eight boards.

The win got DuSable back to even at 7-7. As for Excel Academy of Englewood, they have traveled a rocky road recently having lost four of their last five matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 2-6 record this season.

DuSable will look to defend their home court on Tuesday against Excel Academy of South Shore at 5:30 p.m. DuSable is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 58.4 points per game this season. Excel Academy of Englewood does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
