Softball Recap: Meridian Triumphs

Meridian's game on Friday was a loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Tuesday. They walked away with a 7-2 win over the Warren County Wildcats. The victory continues a trend for the Mustangs in their matchups with the Wildcats: they've now won four in a row.

Elena Clark-Wilson spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered just two earned runs on two hits and racked up 19 Ks. Those 19 strikeouts set a new season-high mark for her.

On the hitting side, Claire Hartenstein was incredible, going 1-for-3 with three RBI, one triple, and one run. Angelica Biegiecka also deserves some recognition as she scored her first run of the season.

Meridian's record now sits at 5-8. As for Warren County, their defeat dropped their record down to 1-12.

Meridian didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next matchup, a 4-3 loss against Alexandria City on the 30th. As for Warren County, they will face off against Fauquier at 6:00 p.m. on Monday.
