Baseball Recap: Libertyville Drops Season-High Score on Waukegan

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Libertyville). They blew past the Waukegan Bulldogs 15-0 on Monday. The result was nothing new for the Wildcats, who have now won ten contests by six runs or more so far this season.

Anthony Fry looked comfortable as he pitched one inning while giving up no earned runs off one hit. What's more, he posted three strikeouts, the most he's had since back in April of 2024.

At the plate, the team relied heavily on Cole Lockwood, who went a perfect 1-for-1 with two stolen bases and two runs. That's the most stolen bases he has posted since back in March. Zachary Seiler was another key player, earning two RBI and two runs.

Libertyville hit smart and finished the game with only two strikeouts. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Waukegan struck out nine times.

The victory made it two in a row for Libertyville and bumps their season record up to 19-2. Those wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 12.0 runs over those games. As for Waukegan, they are on a 15-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-13.

Libertyville will have a chance to go back-to-back against the Bulldogs: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 4:45 p.m. on Tuesday.
