Volleyball Recap: Danville Falls to Tree of Life Christian in First Game of Season

Danville unfortunately couldn't capitalize on their home-court advantage in their season opener. They took a 3-1 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Tree of Life Christian Trojans on Saturday. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Blue Devils of the 3-0 defeat they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in October of 2015.

Danville started the match hot and won the first set, but they struggled down the stretch and lost the last three. The final score came out to 22-25, 25-22, 25-18, 26-24.

Leading Tree of Life Christian to victory were Megan Donnally and Libby Homkes. Donnally had 12 digs and five aces, while Homkes had 12 kills and five digs.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Danville will host Central Christian at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday. As for Tree of Life Christian, they will square off against East Knox at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday.
