Baseball Recap: Dumont Gets the Win

Dumont lost to Tenafly back in April of 2024, but they didn't allow them the same satisfaction on Monday. The Huskies narrowly escaped with a win as the squad sidled past the Tigers 9-8. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Huskies.

Alex Martin made a big impact while hitting and pitching. He looked comfortable on the mound, pitching two innings while giving up no earned runs off two hits. He also tossed no walks, which is notable because Dumont is 2-1 when he allows at most one walk, but 1-4 otherwise. Martin was even better at the plate, getting on base in all four of his plate appearances with four stolen bases, four RBI, and two runs. Those RBI were his first of the season.

In other batting news, Jarrett Carramusa was incredible, scoring three runs and stealing two bases while going 3-for-4. The team also got some help courtesy of Ryan Mckenna, who scored a run and stole a base while going 2-for-4.

Dumont always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .526. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.

Dumont's victory bumped their record up to 3-5. As for Tenafly, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-7.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Dumont will host NV - Demarest at 4:15 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Tenafly, they will welcome Becton at 3:15 p.m. on Wednesday.
