Volleyball Recap: Union Pines Victorious + How To Watch

Union Pines took a three-set defeat the last time they faced off against Uwharrie Charter Academy, but this time they managed to keep it close and that made all the difference. The Vikings came out on top in a nail-biter against the Eagles on Tuesday, sneaking past 3-2. For the Vikings, this counts as revenge for the 3-0 victory the Eagles walked away with the last time they faced one another back in August of 2024.

Union Pines was actually outscored in aggregate across those five sets (101-94), but they still managed to win. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 16-25, 25-16, 25-22, 13-25, 15-13.

Keira Rosenmarkle paced Union Pines' offense, picking up 23 kills. Rosenmarkle were helped by Allie Bauer and Madelyn Perkins, who contributed 20 assists each. Finally, Savannah McCaskill kept Union Pines' defense grounded, leading the team with five blocks.

The win made it two in a row for Union Pines and bumps their season record up to 4-1. As for Uwharrie Charter Academy, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 4-3.

Union Pines wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next contest, a 3-2 victory against Pinecrest on the 21st. As for Uwharrie Charter Academy, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 3-0 win against Southern Alamance on the 21st.
