Volleyball Recap: Western Takes a Loss

Western was not able to break out of their rough patch on Saturday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They fell 3-1 to the Huntington Huntsmen. The Indians were not able to make up for their loss to the Huntsmen from their previous meeting back in August of 2021.

The match finished with set scores of 25-21, 23-25, 25-14, 25-23.

Despite the loss, Western still got an impressive performance from Aubrey Penwell, who had ten digs and one assist. Penwell is on a roll when it comes to digs, as she's now had ten or more in each of the last three games she's played.

Western's defeat dropped their record down to 2-4. As for Huntington, their win was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 6-1.

Western wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next match, a 3-0 loss against Waverly on the 2nd. As for Huntington, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 3-0 victory against Paint Valley on the 2nd.
