Basketball Recap: Hoxie Comes Up Short

Hoxie was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their sixth straight defeat dating back to last season. They took a 61-44 bruising from the Walnut Ridge Bobcats. The Mustangs were probably out for revenge after losing 52-43 to them when the teams met back in February, then they'll just have to keep looking.

Hoxie's loss dropped their record down to 0-5. As for Walnut Ridge, they moved to 1-5 with that win, which also ended their six-game losing streak.

Hoxie didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 73-41 defeat against Manila on the 17th. Walnut Ridge has also already played their next contest, a 77-71 loss against Pocahontas on the 16th.
