Football Recap: Upper Dauphin Area Comes Up Short

Upper Dauphin Area extended their losing streak (dating back to last season) to seven on Friday, dropping them down to 0-5. They fell 33-20 to the Line Mountain Eagles. The contest was a 14-14 toss-up at halftime, but the Trojans couldn't quite close it out.

When it comes to explaining why Upper Dauphin Area lost, don't look at Carter Dreibelbis. Despite the final result, he rushed for 117 yards and a pair of touchdowns.

As for Line Mountain, the victory keeps them at an undefeated 5-0. Give their offense some serious credit: that high-scoring performance was actually the fewest points they've scored all season.

Line Mountain had a senior duo take command as Kaiden Maurer threw for 233 yards and three TDs while picking up 10.6 yards per attempt and Dalton Schadel picked up 96 receiving yards and one score. Maurer didn't just play on offense: he also made four total tackles and defended one pass.

Looking ahead, Upper Dauphin Area will venture away from home to square off against James Buchanan at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The Rockets' defense has only allowed 14.4 points per game this season, so the Trojans' offense will have their work cut out for them. As for Line Mountain, they will welcome Steelton-Highspire at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
