Basketball Game Preview: Community Christian Academy Eagles vs. Byne Christian Saints

The Community Christian Academy Eagles will venture away from home to face off against the Byne Christian Saints at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. The squads are rolling into the game with opposing streaks: Community Christian Academy has struggled recently with five losses in a row, while Byne Christian will arrive with five straight victories.

On Monday, Community Christian Academy was within striking distance but couldn't close the gap as they fell 59-53 to Central Georgia Arts.

Meanwhile, it may have taken overtime to finish the job, but Byne Christian ultimately got the result they hoped for on Friday. They skirted past Highland Christian Academy 75-73. While the Saints didn't have the best season last year (they finished 2-17), it's starting to look like those struggles are a thing of the past.

Community Christian Academy better focus on containing Grantham Jenkins and Luke Howard as the pair were huge in Byne Christian's win. Jenkins dropped a double-double with 19 points and 12 rebounds, while Howard went 7-for-9 to rack up 18 points. Thanks to that strong game, Howard now owns an excellent 45.7% shooting accuracy. Will Skelley was another key player, putting up ten points in addition to five boards and three steals.

Byne Christian's win bumped their record up to 5-0. As for Community Christian Academy, their defeat dropped their record down to 0-4.

Things could have been worse for Community Christian Academy, but things could have been a whole lot better as they took a 75-58 loss to Byne Christian when the teams last played on Tuesday. Can the Eagles avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
