Basketball Recap: Halls Takes a Loss

On Monday, the Halls Red Devils ended up a good deal behind the Fairdale Bulldogs and lost 86-69. While losing is never fun, the Red Devils can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' basketball rankings in their respective home states (they are ranked 146th in Tennessee, while the Bulldogs are ranked 38th in Kentucky).

Fairdale's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Ferlandas Wright, who dropped a double-double on 28 points and 13 boards. Wright's afternoon made it four games in a row in which he has scored at least ten points. Michael Ray Stinnett was another key player, going 6 for 13 on his way to 20 points.

Halls now has a losing record at 5-6. As for Fairdale, the victory (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 9-4.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Halls will challenge Gibbs at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. One thing working in Halls' favor is that they have posted at least 55 points in their last four matchups. As for Fairdale, they will square off against North Bullitt at 7:30 p.m. on Friday.
