MaxPreps Top 25 high school football scores: No. 4 Corona Centennial, No. 7 Santa Margarita advance to CIF Southern Section Division 1 title game

No. 2 Grayson and No. 11 Carrollton both win to set up Georgia AAAAAA playoff matchup next week

No. 4 Centennial (Corona) and No. 7 Santa Margarita (Rancho Santa Margarita) both win to set up a matchup in the CIF Southern Section Division 1 final.

Santa Margarita cruised past No. 19 Orange Lutheran (Orange) 31-6 to advance to its first final since 2011. Eagles senior quarterback Trace Johnson threw two touchdowns to USC commit Trent Mosley. Jaion Smith and Adrian Petero each had rushing touchdowns.

Centennial defeated No. 5 Mater Dei (Santa Ana) 28-27 for the second time this season. Huskies senior quarterback Dominick Catalano ran for two touchdowns and threw the game-winner to senior Keawe Browne with 1:35 left.

Mater Dei quarterback Ryan Hopkins threw touchdowns to Ohio State commits Chris Henry Jr. and Kayden Dixon-Wyatt while Kennie Leggett ran for a score.



No. 15 De La Salle (Concord, Calif.) advanced to the CIF Open State Championship and won its 33rd straight North Coast Section crown with a 24-17 over rival Pittsburg (Calif.)

The Spartans scored three rushing touchdowns from Brayden Knight, Brady Smith and Jaden Jefferson. Pittsburg had a chance to win as sophomore Javale Jones threw a score to Kenneth Ward and Siotame Finau ran for a touchdown.

De La Salle will play the winner of Santa Margarita and Centennial, which will be played on Nov. 28 at the Rose Bowl. 

In Tennessee, No. 23 Baylor (Chattanooga) advanced to the Division II-AAA final with a 56-35 win over rival McCallie (Chattanooga).

Junior five-star running back David Gabriel-Georges had a career day with seven rushing touchdowns, including an 85-yard score. He went over 400 on the night.

The game was tied 35-35 before Gabriel-Georges helped Baylor pull away.



No. 25 Don Bosco Prep (Ramsey, N.J.) won the Non-Public A championship over Bergen Catholic (Oradell, N.J.) 31-17. Its the first title for the Ironmen since 2015. Bergen had won the past four championships. 

Ca'si Thomas had two rushing touchdowns for Don Bosco Prep while quarterback Carson Schoen passed for a score. Defensively the Ironmen also dominated as Kane Ramos had an interception and Mikahi Allen returned a fumble for a touchdown. 

The second round of the Georgia AAAAAA playoffs saw No. 2 Grayson (Loganville) top Colquitt County (Norman Park) 31-10, No. 8 Buford defeating Newton (Covington) 31-14 and No. 11 Carrollton topping Harrison (Kennesaw) 51-6. Grayson and Carrollton will meet in the quarterfinals next week. 

No. 13 DeMatha (Hyattsville, Md.) looks to win its second straight WCAC title and the only thing standing in its way is Gonzaga (Washington, D.C.). They square off on Sunday at Navy-Marine Corps Memorial Stadium. The last time these two played in the WCAC championship game was in 2018 when Caleb Williams led the Eagles to a wild 46-43 win as a sophomore.
