Volleyball Recap: Lima Jr. Amisone Key Part of Team Effort in Mustangs Win

West Valley's game last Wednesday was a loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Friday. They came out on top against the Tahquitz Titans by a score of 3-1. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 1-0 back in February.

West Valley had a slow start but a hot finish: after dropping the first set, they turned around to win the next three. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 23-25, 25-17, 25-14, 25-18.

West Valley's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Lima Jr. Amisone, who had seven digs, five aces, and one block. Those five aces gave Amisone a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Diego Allievi, who had nine digs, seven kills, and one block.

West Valley's win bumped their record up to 8-10. As for Tahquitz, they have been struggling recently as they've lost 11 of their last 12 matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 3-14 record this season.

West Valley and Tahquitz will both get a bit of extra prep time before their next games. The next time West Valley sees the court they'll take on San Jacinto at 5:00 p.m. on April 9. As for Tahquitz, their break will end when they face Rancho Cucamonga at 5:00 p.m. on April 10.
