Baseball Recap: Starks Comes Up Short

Starks was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They lost 7-1 to the Hackberry Mustangs. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Mustangs this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 14-2 last Tuesday.

Cody Harrison made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and scored a run while going 2-for-2.

Starks' loss dropped their record down to 5-12. As for Hackberry, they are on a roll lately: they've won seven of their last nine contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 9-8 record this season.

Starks will host South Cameron at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Hackberry, they are taking a road trip to challenge Jena at 9:00 a.m. on Saturday.
