On Saturday, Monroe Catholic faced West Valley in a battle between two of the state's top teams. The Monroe Catholic Rams' defense stepped up to hand the West Valley Wolf Pack a 2-0 shutout. The two-point effort marked the Rams' lowest-scoring contest of the season, but in the end it didn't matter.

The win (which was Monroe Catholic's third in a row) raised their record to 18-8. The wins came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 27.3 points on average over those games. As for West Valley, their loss was their first in the conference, dropping their conference record down to 7-1 and their overall record down to 18-8.
