Hillcrest entered their tilt with Brookwood on Saturday with four consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with five. They walked away with a 7-4 win over the Panthers. That result was just more of the same for these two, as the Patriots also won the last time the pair played back in April of 2024.

The team relied heavily on Preston Walker, who went 2-for-3 with three RBI and one double. Those three RBI gave him a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Peyton Rackard, who got on base in three of his four plate appearances with one run.

Hillcrest's victory bumped their record up to 15-5. As for Brookwood, they moved to 9-5 with that defeat, which also ended their four-game winning streak.

Coincidentally, Hillcrest and Brookwood will both be playing Cullman the next time they take the field. The Panthers will host the Bearcats at 1:30 p.m. on Saturday, while the Patriots will play them later in the day, at 4:00 p.m.
