Baseball Recap: Shorecrest Turns Things Around After Road Loss

There's no place like home for Shorecrest, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Friday. They came out on top against the Mountlake Terrace Hawks on Monday by a score of 4-2 (the very same score they lost by in their prior game). This was a revenge game for the Scots: when they faced off against the Hawks on Friday, they had to take a 4-2 defeat.

David Telling made a big impact while hitting and pitching. He looked comfortable on the mound, pitching seven innings while giving up just two earned runs off four hits. He also tossed a walk, which is notable because Shorecrest is undefeated when he allows at most two walks, but 5-6 otherwise. Telling was also solid in the batter's box, going 1-for-3 with one run, one double, and one RBI.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Elyas Rojas, who went 2-for-3 with two RBI and one double.

Shorecrest has been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 12-6 record this season. They've had to fight for that success though, as they only beat their opponents by an average of 1.67 runs across that stretch. As for Mountlake Terrace, their record is now 8-10.

We've got plenty of inter-district action coming up soon. Shorecrest will take on rival Meadowdale at 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Meanwhile, Mountlake Terrace is set to challenge their familiar foe Archbishop Murphy at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
